FIRE PREVENTION DIVISION

The fire prevention division, along with the career firefighters, perform annual fire safety inspections at all businesses in district.  Deficiencies are noted and the owner is given adequate time to correct these problems, such as:

• Proper fire extinguishers with up to date inspections

• Exits maintained and unobstructed

• Proper use of extension cords and other electrical

• Proper storage and quantities of flammable materials

The fire prevention division is also responsible for reviewing all applications and architectural plans for new business construction.  They will ensure that adequate fire protection is in place for your new building(s).  An information handout is available that addresses plan review, fire alarm systems, and sprinkler systems.
